Grants in 2011 increased by 31% to DKK 504 million (€ 68 million), which is the highest amount the Foundation has awarded in a single year. The Foundation has continued to award application based grants to research within biomedical and natural sciences of approx. DKK 300 million (€ 40 million) and has increased its focus on young research talent by raising the number of Lundbeck Foundation Fellowships.
